Laois County Council have announced the closure of four Laois roads to facilitate the Forest Fest music festival.

These closures will take place from Friday July 25 at 5am, to Monday July 28 at 3pm.

In accordance with the provisions of section 75 of the above Act and Article 12 of the Roads Regulations, 1994, Laois County Council hereby serves notice that it is Intended to temporarily close these roads:

L3154 from its junction with the R419 to its junction with the R422.

L31551 from Its Junction with R422 back to a point 350M East of the L3 1551/ R422 Junction  L35142 from Its junction with R445 to its junction with the R422.

There will be local access only along L31542 from R445.

Traffic will be restricted to local access, event buses and vehicles only during these times.

All Points of the road closure will be manned by a dedicated Traffic Management Team 24/7.

Diversions will be clearly signposted. A map indicating the routes to be closed and the alternative routes will be available for Inspection at www.laois.ie and Aras an Chontae, Portlaoise.

Forest Fest will take place from Friday July 25 to Sunday July 27, where 13,500 people will descend upon Emo.

Laois County Council has said that the festival is permitted to have a maximum attendance of 12,000 people, plus 1,500 staff and artists.

The festival's camping area is designed for a maximum of 7,500 people, with parking and camping available from July 24 to 28.

This is the festival's fourth year in operation.
