The Midlands LGBT Project have announced an exciting Pride festival for Laois this year.
Laois Pride 2026 marks the county's fifth annual Pride celebration. Organisers say that after the success of the past four years, they are planning their biggest and most vibrant festival yet.
While pride celebrations across the world are generally held in June, Laois Pride has a tradition of taking place in September.
This year, Laois Pride will run from Monday September 7 to Sunday, September 13, with the official Pride Parade and main festival day taking place on Saturday September 12 in Portlaoise.

Organisers are appealing for local groups, businesses and organisations to show their support and take part in festivities.
"Each year, we invite groups from Laois and surrounding communities to join us in showing just how inclusive, diverse, and welcoming our county truly is," organisers told the Leinster Express / Laois Live.
"It’s a day of celebration, visibility, and joy and your presence would mean so much. We would be delighted to have your group walk with us in the parade," they said.
"This is no ordinary march, it's an explosion of colour, music, and Pride! We encourage everyone taking part to dress as brightly, boldly, and proudly as possible; think rainbows, glitter, banners, face paint, music, and anything that expresses your joy and spirit.
"Let’s make it loud, proud, and unforgettable! We really hope you’ll join us in making Laois Pride 2026 our most colourful celebration yet!" organisers finished.
Laois Pride Parade will meet at Fitzmaurice Place, Portlaoise between 11am and 11:30am on Saturday September 12.
The parade will begin at 12 noon, with an end time of 1pm, where the parade will return to Fitzmaurice Place / the Laois School of Music.
The parade will be followed by a Pride Fun Day until 5pm, with all invited to stay and celebrate.
