New #MeetInTheMiddle photo competition to promote Laois

Laois locals and visitors to the county are being invited to enter their photos of the perfect place to meet in Laois.

Laois Tourism and the Laois Chamber Alliance has launched a photo competition that's open to all as part of what they are calling a #MeetInTheMiddle campaign to promote the county.

"Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or just generally snap happy, we want to hear from you! At Laois Tourism, we’re celebrating Laois as a county that allows us #MeetInTheMiddle, whether it’s to visit, catch up, work or live. Laois is in the heart of it all and we want you to be in the heart of Laois.

"So, we want you to share the photos with us that you think highlights the perfect place to #MeetInTheMiddle in Laois," they say.

When entering photos, people are asked to give reasons why this place is the perfect spot in Laois to visit.

"Whether it’s an overall area, the perfect attraction, your favourite hidden gem, perhaps a town, or somewhere in Laois that holds sentimental value to you like a certain hotel lobby with a book in one hand and a coffee in the other or a spot under your favourite ancient tree, let us know," they say.

There are some prizes up for grabs including:

• 1st Prize: A €200 Irelandhotels.com Go Anywhere Gift Card
• 2nd Prize: A Laois Taste Gift Box sponsored by Laois Chamber Alliance
• 3rd Prize: A €25 Laois Gift Card sponsored by Laois Chamber Alliance
