Portlaoise business nominated for Engineering Excellence Awards

Portlaoise business,  Kirby Group Engineering, has been nominated for an Engineering Excellence Awards.


The company has been shortlisted for ‘Best People Development in Engineering’ award and ‘Graduate Training Programme of the Year'.


The awards recognise innovation and excellence in engineering, celebrating the most innovative individuals and companies driving excellence in Ireland's engineering sector. The finalists have been announced with the awards event taking place in October. 

Commenting on the nomination Kirby said: "We are delighted to announce Kirby has been shortlisted for ‘Best People Development in Engineering’ award and ‘Graduate Training Programme of the Year' at the upcoming Engineering Excellence Awards. The awards celebrate the most innovative individuals and companies driving excellence in Ireland's engineering sector. We wish our teams the best of luck at the awards ceremony on the 23rd October."


The Midlands will be well represented at the awards with eight finalists nominated across the region. 


ORS in Mullingar are finalists for three awards including Engineering Firm of the Year (+100 employees), Best People Development in Engineering and Graduate Training Programme of the Year. Cardinal Health Manufacturing Ireland, with operations in Tullamore, are finalists for Excellence in Health and Safety and the Sustainability Award. Meanwhile Writech in Mullingar are finalists for the Operational Excellence Award and Gilead Sciences, with operations in Athlone, are finalists for the Rising Star in Engineering Award.
