Ballyfin Demesne received the highest honour of three Michelin Keys

Laois' stunning Ballyfin Demesne has become one of the first Irish hotels to be awarded a Michelin Key.

Ballyfin received the highest honour of three Michelin Keys at The Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland Awards.
This impressive accolade from Michelin recognises hotels that encapsulate the very best service and excellence in hospitality, spotlighting Ballyfin Demesne amongst the very best hotels in the world.

In total, the 2024 MICHELIN Guide hotel selection for Great Britain and Ireland includes 14 Three Key hotels, 37 Two Key hotels and 72 One Key hotels.

General Manager of Ballyfin Demesne, Peter White commented; ‘We are absolutely delighted to be one of the first Irish hotels to receive three Michelin Keys this morning. At Ballyfin Demesne, we strive for excellence in everything we do and to be recognised by Michelin is very special for all the team. With this three Michelin Keys accolade, we will continue to strive to be the very best to ensure our guests enjoy unforgettable experiences every time they visit.’

The Michelin Key awards celebrate hotels that set new standards in hospitality, design, and service, similar to the way Michelin recognise excellence in restaurants. Each hotel awarded the Michelin Key is selected based on five criteria: an open door to the destination, architectural excellence, individuality, quality of service, and value for money. This latest distinction marks a significant milestone for luxury hospitality in Ireland, highlighting Ballyfin’s commitment to creating memorable and authentic guest experiences.

Situated at the foot of the Slieve Bloom Mountains in Co. Laois, Ballyfin Demesne is known for its breathtaking 614-acre estate, historic Regency mansion, and refined Irish hospitality. Since opening in 2011 after an extensive restoration, the hotel has won numerous awards for its unmatched service and luxurious offerings. As a member of Relais & Châteaux and Ireland’s Blue Book, Ballyfin Demesne provides exceptional hospitality, offering activities such as fishing, horseback riding, clay pigeon shooting, archery, and gourmet dining.
