Domino's Pizza
Laois County Council has given the green light for a new Domino’s pizza takeaway in Laois.
Marcus McLoughlin applied for permission for the takeaway at Unit 2, Link Road, Portarlington last July.
According to the planning documents the takeaway should provide between 15 and 20 jobs including delivery drivers.
The application sought a “change use of the existing retail unit to use as a pizza bakery and takeaway, with a home delivery service and for associated alterations to the shopfront and the provision of new fascia signage.”
The new 92 sq metre single storey takeaway would be located adjacent to Supervalu at the rear of a service station.
“The restaurant takeaway is proposed to be open from 12pm to 1am, employing 15 to 20 no. people which includes delivery drivers. This is a town centre location where there is a mix of uses in the immediate vicinity and where other similar businesses have similar opening hours. Given the separation from residential properties, I do not consider that the development would have an adverse impact on the amenities of adjoining properties,” the council’s planner noted in their report.
Laois County Council approved the planning application subject to 16 conditions.
