Laois Gardaí are investigating a number of thefts from local shops including perfume and clothing.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a theft which occurred on Saturday, February 7, when two females entered Lifestyle Sports in Portlaoise at 2.30pm and allegedly took clothing worth approximately €40.
One of the women was wearing a grey hoodie with pink shorts, while the other wore a black coat with brown pants.
At Tesco in Portlaoise on February 8, at approximately at 11.15am, a male allegedly walked out of Tesco with a basket full of items. The exact value of items taken is unknown.
Also on February 7 at 5.30pm, two females allegedly took a number of items worth €190 from Elvery's.
At 1pm on January 11, a teenager allegedly took four cans of alcohol worth approximately €20 from Tesco, Portlaoise. She has since been identified and is engaging with Garda Juvenile Liaison Officers.
On January 26, a woman allegedly stole a bottle of perfume from Shaws in Portlaoise. The perfume was to the value of €300.
The woman has since been arrested, charged and has appeared before the courts. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
