Gardai arrested two motorists in separate incidents in Laois and Offaly at the weekend.
“Laois and Offaly Road's Policing Units performing checkpoints over the weekend in Laois stopped a car that had no insurance and the tax was out 1,050 days. The driver failed the roadside drug test and a bag of cannabis was recovered. The car was seized.”
“In Offaly a vehicle turned from a Garda checkpoint and after a short traffic pursuit the driver was also arrested for drug driving and cannabis herb was also found in this vehicle. Both drivers were arrested. Court prosecutions to follow in both cases,” Gardai said.
