Car registered to man without licence 

Limerick motoring: Expired driving licences and permits to remain valid for longer

A car detected speeding is registered to a man with no driving licence, a sitting of Portlaoise District Court was told. 

Noel Rosney of 4 Railway View, Clara in Co Offaly appeared in court on a summons for speeding on the  R445 Clogheen, Monasterevin, Kildare on April 27 last. 

The court was told the 151 OY car is registered to the man.  “He doesn’t even have a driving licence,” a garda said. 

“There is somebody else driving that car and has registered the car in his name to his address,” the court was told. 

Sergeant JJ Kirby said the man needed to report the matter to Tullamore Garda Station. 

Judge Andrew Cody said he would dismiss the case and he urged the man to make a complaint in relation to the matter.
