Man accused of sending grossly offensive Facebook messages to Midlands woman

Man sent forward to Tullamore Circuit Court

A man has been ordered to appear at Tullamore Circuit Court accused of an offence under the Harassment, Harmful Communications and Related Offences Act 2020.

James O'Leary (35), The Heritage, Main Street, Birr, allegedly sent Facebook messages and voice notes to a woman which were grossly offensive and sent with intent to cause harm.

The offence was allegedly committed at High Street, Birr on September 3, 2021.

The man, who is on legal aid, was sent forward to the sitting of Tullamore Circuit Court beginning on April 18 next. A solicitor and one counsel were assigned for him.
