A man and a woman appeared in a court accused of cruelty to children in Laois.
Neither the man, who is in his mid 30s, or the woman who is also in her mid 30s, can be identified as reporting restrictions are in place.
They each face three charges of child cruelty at an address in Laois in November last year.
Judge Andrew Cody remanded the defendants on bail to reappear in court on May 4 for service of a book of evidence.
