A suspended sentence was handed down to a man who admitted selling cocaine.
Christopher Keogh, 35, of 16 Corrig Glen, Station Road, Portarlington admitted to possessing cocaine for sale or supply at his address on October 25 last year.
Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said gardai searched the man’s address and discovered €700 of cocaine, weighing scales and bags.
“He made full admissions of supplying cocaine to friends and family,” said Sgt Kirby.
He described the defendant as “compliant at all times” and said he admitted selling the drugs to support his own consumption.
Solicitor Philip Meagher said his client had been dealing with difficulties at home by using cocaine.
Mr Meagher said in hindsight his client was glad to have been caught as it acted as a catalyst for him to get help.
“He remains clean to this day,” Mr Meagher said.
Judge Andrew Cody gave the man a one month sentence which he suspended for a year.
