Laois Offaly Gardai seized a car, heroin and a weapon after a driver fled on foot.
The car was stopped because its occupants were acting suspiciously in Co Offaly.
“Edenderry Gardaí out and about patrolling observed a vehicle with occupants acting suspiciously,” Gardai said.
“The driver fled the scene, the passenger was found to be in possession of quantity of suspected heroin. A weapon also found during search of vehicle,” Gardai added.
They said the vehicle was seized for not having insurance, tax and an NCT and investigations are ongoing.
