Portlaoise District Court
A woman has appeared in court charged with possessing €61,000 worth of drugs.
Casey O’Neill, 20, with an address at 74 St Brigid’s Place, Portlaoise is accused of possessing cannabis for sale or supply at her address on August 17, 2023.
Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby asked for the case to be adjourned to the new year. He said it was allegedly a “very large sum” of drugs found in a house with a value of €61,000.
Solicitor Aonghus McCarthy said there was consent to an adjournment to the new year. He requested legal aid and said his client worked part time as a sales assistant and lived at home with her parents.
Judge Andrew Cody adjourned the matter to Portlaoise District Court on January 15, 2024.
