Gardaí are appealing for information following two burglaries over the weekend.

The burglaries occurred at two properties in Rossnamullane, Vicarstown on Saturday, August 24 between 5pm and 9.30pm.

“A shed was broken into and a number of implements and tools taken,” gardaí said. The tools included an angle grinder and drill bits, gardaí said.

A neighbouring property was also targeted and an office attached to a farm was broken into. The burglars stole a pitchfork and an axe.

Gardaí suspect the two incidents are connected. They are appealing to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or who may have dash cam footage from the area between 5pm and 9.30pm on Saturday to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 867 4100.
