A woman who was accused of money laundering €32,270  in Portlaoise has had the charge  against her struck out.

Christina Daramola (21) of 21 Clonroosk Abbey, Portlaoise had previously admitted to the offence which occurred at the AIB Lyster Square, Portlaoise on November 5, 2020.

At a previous court sitting last February, Judge Nicola Andrews said she would consider striking the charge out if the woman, who had no previous convictions, remained of good behaviour and paid €1,500 to the court poor box by September 2, 2024.

At a sitting of Portlaoise District Court on September 2 Solicitor Philip Meagher said his client had €1,500.

He said his client was doing well and won’t trouble the court again.

Judge Andrews struck out the charge and said she didn’t want to ever see the woman in court again.
