Revenue customs officers in Laois for 'shadow economy' operation

Office of Revenue tax and customs service.

Revenue, the Irish Tax and Customs Service, has this week carried out an operation in Laois, related to "shadow economy activity".

The operation took place on Wednesday, May 7.

A spokesperson told the Leinster Express / Laois Live that they were unable to discuss any detail.

"Revenue took part in an operation on Wednesday 7 May as part of our ongoing work to combat and monitor shadow economy activity. No further information is available in respect of this operation."

Laois Gardaí have confirmed that they were not involved in the operation.
