A man who is accused of attempted robbery in Portlaoise agreed to allow his solicitor accept his book of evidence on his behalf. 

Robert Dwane (31) of 25 Mountain View, Portlaoise, is accused of attempted robbery and production of an industrial pliers at Mountmellick Road, Portlaoise on October 4 and at Greenmill Lane, Portlaoise, on September 28, 2025. He is also accused of possession of drugs at O’Moore Place on October 13, 2025.

Solicitor Josephine Fitzpatrick said a book of evidence was to be prepared in the case. 

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said “we hope to have it ready in two weeks time”. 

Judge Susan Fay adjourned the case back to Portlaoise District Court on December 22. She said the defendant can appear via video link and the book of evidence would be served on his solicitor.
