Laois Gardaí have announced that they have foiled an attempt by 'the Grinch' to 'steal' disabled parking bays in Abbeyleix.
Gardaí were delighted to save the town as the Grinch attempted to 'park Christmas'.
"Laois RPU were on patrol in Abbeyleix this morning when we spotted a familiar festive villain move... a vehicle parked in a disabled bay with no permit displayed," Gardaí said.-1765816820301.jpg)
"But as it turns out, this Grinch didn’t stop at stealing parking spaces. A quick word with the driver revealed: No insurance, learner permit holder driving unaccompanied, no L - plates displayed. At that point, Christmas cheer was shrinking and the list of offences growing," Gardaí said.
Gardaí report that the vehicle was seized, the disabled parking bay was freed, and the Grinch was walking home to Whoville!
