Woman allegedly didn't have control of Pit Bull dog in Laois

The case was called before Portlaoise District Court

Pitbull caused injury to innocent man after escaping 'dognapping' attempt

A woman is accused of not having control of a Pit Bull dog in Laois.

Roxanne Cawley (32) of 1 Derrycloney, Mountmellick is accused of not having control of a grey Pit Bull at her address on March 14 and of not having a sufficiently strong lead on March 29, 2025. 

Solicitor Josephine Fitzpatrick said her client had been unable to attend court and she requested an adjournment. 

Judge Andrew Cody adjourned the case back to Portlaoise District Court on January 12, 2026.
