A book of evidence was served on a man who is accused of threatening to kill a prison officer at a Laois Prison.
Gerard Manning (45) of 17 Upper Gerald Griffin Street, Limerick, is accused of threatening to kill or cause serious harm at Portlaoise Prison on July 1, 2021.
Garda Lisa Murray said she served the book of evidence on the accused in the body of Portlaoise Courthouse.
Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said the case was to be sent forward to the next sittings of Portlaoise Circuit Court starting on February 17, 2026.
Judge Andrew Cody issued the standard alibi warning to the defendant and granted legal aid for a solicitor and one counsel and he sent it forward to the next sittings of Portlaoise Circuit Court sitting on February 17, 2026.
