Laois Gardaí chased Skoda car stolen from Limerick which hit speeds of over 200kph

Two teenagers were arrested following a high speed chase which saw a stolen car hit speeds in excess of 200kph last night. 

The Leinster Express/Laois Live understands that the stolen car was detected by Gardaí in Laois before it travelled along the motorway towards Tipperary and hit speeds in excess of 200kph. 

The car passed through the toll bridge on the M7 motorway and continued on into Tipperary with Gardaí from Laois and later Tipperary in pursuit.

The car was involved in a collision near Birdhill in Tipperary and the two teenage boys exited the vehicle before being arrested at around 1.10am this morning.  A Garda car is understood to have sustained minor damage during the incident.    

The White Skoda Octavia car was stolen in Doon in Co Limerick on the morning of Thursday, January 8.

Both teenage boys who were arrested in Tipperary and remain in Garda custody today(Friday, January 9).
