Trial for alleged assault in Portlaoise pub

The assault allegedly occured in a pub in Market Square, Portlaoise

A book of evidence was served  on a man who is accused of assault in a Portlaoise bar. 

Mihnea Hruscovschi (20) of 384 Market Mews, Maryborough Village, Portlaoise, is accused of assaulting a man causing harm at Coppers bar, Market Square, Portlaoise, on September 15, 2024.

Garda Lisa Murray gave evidence of serving a book of evidence on the defendant in the body of Portlaoise Courthouse. 

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said the case should be sent forward to the next sittings of Portlaoise Circuit Court. 

Judge  Susan Fay noted the DPP had consented to the case being sent forward. She gave the standard alibi warning and sent the case forward to the next sittings of Portlaoise Circuit Criminal Court sitting on February 17, 2026.
