A passenger has been arrested in Laois after gardaí stopped a van which was described as being in a “state.”
Members of the Roads Policing Unit were on patrol when they encountered this vehicle that they say had no CVRT or tax.
A further check of the van revealed some shocking defects.
According to Laois gardaí, every single panel was damaged, the side door would not open and the tail lights were broken.

As well as this, the rear door was operated by a string instead of a handle.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána in the county said on social media: “General condition best described as…very tired. It’s been a while since we’ve seen one in this state.”
The van was seized.
Also during the stop, the passenger was found to be the subject of a live bench warrant and was arrested at the scene. Court proceedings have commenced.
