A car that was “prancing down” the M7 was recently stopped by members of An Garda Síochána in Laois/Offaly.
The Volkswagen Bora was observed leaving a trail of black smoke signals, which gardaí say screamed, “Stop me!!!”
A further examination of the vehicle revealed several issues with the registration plates. These included “miniscule” characters being used, a heavy smoke tint and wrong coloured plates as well as the plates themselves not being clearly legible.

The car was stopped and Fixed Charge Penalty Notices were issued.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána in Laois/Offaly said on social media: “Registration plates must be clear and easily readable at all times.
“If your exhaust is producing enough smoke to flavour a rack of ribs, we’re going to notice,” they added.
