Gardaí investigating Tullamore shooting

The incident happened at the weekend

Gardai are investigating "the reported discharge of a firearm" at a halting site at Arden Way in Tullamore.

The incident allegedly occurred on Saturday, May 5 at approximately 12pm. It's alleged the gun was fired in the direction of a caravan on the site.

It led to an altercation between a number of individuals before gardaí arrived at the scene. It's understood two men and a woman were arrested at the scene and that a file is being prepared for the DPP in relation to one of the men.

Gardaí confirmed on Wednesday that their investigations are ongoing.

They are appealing to people who may have witnessed the altercation to contact Tullamore Garda Station on 0579327600.

They are particularly interested in hearing from passing motorists who may have dashcam footage or who may have witnessed the incident.
