Gardaí have charged a man arising from the seizure of a drone and drugs at Castlerea Prison.
Garda HQ has confirmed that a man, aged in his 40s, has been charged in relation to an incident near the jail and is due to appear before Castlrea District Court on May 26.
A woman aged in her 40s has been released without charge a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The arrests were made near the Roscommon jail after controlled drugs and a drone were seized on Thursday, April 11.
In a statement, the Governor of Castlerea Prison said on Thursday that the prison works closely with gardaí.
"We welcome their intervention and continued support in assisting the prevention of contraband entering our facility," he said.
It was reported that drone was in the process of being set up. A quantity of cannabis herb, tablets and mobile phones were recovered.
