The death has taken place on April 3 of Bart Whelan, Charleville, Co. Cork.
(Bart Whelan Electrical) Formerly of Brackernagh, Ballinasloe and The Heath, Portlaoise.
Unexpectedly but peacefully.
Pre-deceased by his parents Margaret and Joe and his brother John.
Sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving wife and best friend Eva (née Judge), sons Joe and Bart, daughter Shauna, his adoring grandchildren, sisters, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Reposing on Wednesday evening April 8 at Daffy’s Funeral Home, Ballyagran from 5pm with evening prayers at 7pm.
Bart’s Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday afternoon April 9 at St. Michael’s Church, Ballyagran (V35C982) at 4pm, followed by private cremation on Friday.
Family flowers only please. House private please.
Martin Ryan - Rathdowney
The death has taken place of Martin Ryan, Watford, Hertfordshire United Kingdom and late of Rathdowney, County Laois.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Martin, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on the 7th March 2026. Sadly missed by his loving wife, Patricia, his beloved, daughter Elaine and son James and his grandchildren, his brother John and sister-in-law Eileen, nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

William J Murray - Rosenallis
The death took place on April 5 of William J (Willie) Murray, Derry House, Rosenallis, Co. Laois.
Gone to his eternal rest at Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore on 05/04/2026 surrounded by his family following a long illness with bravery and courage.
Predeceased by his father Sylvester, brothers Séan and Martin & sisters Marie Assumpta and Anne.
Deeply regretted by his wife Mary, his children Aoife, Rónán and Érin, his mother Abigail (Abbie), his sisters Abigail, Bernadette and Theresa, his brothers-in-law, extended family, neighbours, and his many friends.
Reposing in his home on Tuesday from 3pm. Recital of the Rosary at 7pm. Removal from his home on Wednesday morning at 11.30am arriving to St. Brigid’s Church Rosenallis for Requiem Mass at 12 o’clock. Burial afterwards in St. Brigid’s cemetery. Family flowers only.
Donations can be made to the Beaumont Hospital Foundation. House private on Wednesday morning.
Joseph Moran - Stradbally
The death took place on April 3 of Joseph, better known as Joe Moran, Ballinteskin, Stradbally, Co. Laois, passed away peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his brothers Peter and John, and his father Peter.
Joe will be sadly missed by his beloved mother Patricia, his sister Mary, his brothers Andy and Mick, his nieces and nephews, grandnieces Nora and Kate, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Reposed at the Presentation Chapel, Stradbally, on Easter Sunday, 5th April, from 5pm to 8pm, with recital of the Rosary at 8.00pm. Requiem Mass on Easter Monday, 6th April, at 11am in the Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally, followed by Interment in Timogue Cemetery.

Peter Fitzpatrick - Mountrath
The death took place on April 3 of Peter Fitzpatrick, 24 Old Forge Crescent, Mountrath formerly Clonin, Mountrath & Brae Dooniver, Achill Island, Co.Mayo.
Peter is deeply missed by his only daughter Carina (Chambers), Carina's mother Margaret, son in law Tim, grandchildren Courtney, Dean and Emily, His best friend Imelda, His brothers and sisters Joe Jr, Michael, James, Patrick, Mary, Peggy, Delores and Noreen and his nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his Parents Joseph and Elizabeth Fitzpatrick of Clonin and Sister Josephine Delaney of Roundwood.
Reposing at his daughter's home in Whitefields, Mountrath, Co.Laois (R32E3X7) on Tuesday evening from 5pm concluding with the Rosary at 8pm.
Removal on Wednesday morning at 9.15am to St.Fintans Church Mountrath arriving for 10am Requiem Mass.
Follows by Cremation service at 2.30pm in Newlands Cross Crematorium Dublin (D24 K1CY).

Mary Fitzgerald - Abbeyleix
The death took place on April 4 of Mary Fitzgerald (née Doheny), Green Road, Abbeyleix, Laois
Peacefully at home in her 90th year, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her loving husband Jim. Dearly loved mother to Liam, Michael, Seamus, Tim, Mary and Noel. Deeply regretted by her daughters-in-law Martha, Ann, Catherine, Gillian and Carol and her son-in-law Ruaidhri, her 23 beloved grandchildren, her 10 great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of relatives and friends.
The family would like to give a special word of thanks to all her carers.
Reposed at her home from 2pm. on Sunday with Prayers at 6pm. Removal on Easter Monday at 11.30 am.to the Church Of The Most Holy Rosary Abbeyleix for Requiem Mass at 12noon. Interment afterwards in St. Patricks Cemetery Abbeyleix.
James Dempsey - Portlaoise
The death took place on April 3 of James Dempsey, Borris Road, Portlaoise.
After a brave battle our much loved and adored James (Ex Irish Defence Force) passed away on April 3rd 2026. Peacefully in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family and dogs Bell and Bluey. Predeceased by his Sister Patti, brother-in-law Joe, nephew Kevin, Mum, Dad, sister Mary Philomena and his great friends Pj Walsh and Terry Dunne. Beautiful James will be loved and missed daily by his wife and best friend Judy, his beautiful children Matthew, Grace, Sharon his adored grandchildren Megan, Gemma, Dylan, Matilda and Pippa, brothers Pat, Dennis and Shawn, sister Bernie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, sons-in-law, great neighbours and friends.
Reposed at Keegan's Funeral Home on Sunday April 5th from 5pm until 6.30pm with rosary at 6pm. Requiem mass on Easter Monday at 1pm in SS Peter and Pauls Church Portlaoise followed by a private cremation.

Christopher Redmond - Mountmelllick
The death took place on April 3 of Christopher (Christy) Redmond, Garoon, Mountmellick and formerly Ballygillaheen, Rosenallis.
Christy passed away peacefully following a short illness surrounded by his loving family in St James hospital Dublin.
Predeceased by his parents Christy and Josie Redmond.
Survived by his broken hearted wife Tina, his adored children Shona and Thomas, his treasured grandchildren Patrick, Tina, Peter, Tom, Harry and Bobby.
Sadly missed by his son-in-law Mark and daughter-in-law Grainne, his siblings Tom, Joan, Joe, Felix, Monica and Raymond, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and his many friends.
Christy reposed in his home on Saturday from 3pm. Recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Removal from his home on Monday morning at 10.15am to arrive at St. Josephs Church for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial after in St. Josephs Cemetery.

John Dollard- Durrow
John, lovingly known as Jack, died peacefully at his home, on 2nd April 2026.
Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Anastatia, his brothers Patrick, Walter and Thomas, his sister Anastatia (Daisy).
Jack will be forever loved and missed by his loving wife Mary, son Patrick (Pat), daughters Marie and Carmel, his brother Michael, sister Sr. Mary Christina (May), grandchildren Danny, Conor, Aoife, Edel, Nadene, Tara, Roisín, Aíne, Aaron and Molly, great grandchild Kaelyn, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

James Guilfoyle- Newbridge, Kildare / Mountrath, Laois
The death has occurred of James (Jimmy) Guilfoyle of Dara Park, Newbridge and late of Mountrath, Co. Laois. Jimmy passed on 2nd April 2026 peacefully at Naas Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Loving husband of the late Margaret (Peg). Sadly missed by his loving son Mark, daughter Lynda, daughter-in-law Caroline, grandchildren Lauren, Charlie, Seán, brother, sisters, nephews and nieces, extended family, relatives and friends.

Jim Kileen - Castletown
The death took place on April 2 of Jim Killeen, Ballycleary, Castletown, Portlaoise, Co. Laois.
Jim passed away peacefully in his 90th year (ex-employee of Irish Rail) in the loving care of the management, nursing and care staff of Oghill Nursing Home, Monasterevin, Co. Kildare.
Predeceased by his loving parents Owen and Brigid, sisters May and Betty, brothers Peter, Fintan, Eddie, Paddy and Gene, niece Bernadette and nephew Eugene.
Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, neighbours and friends in Oghill.
Reposing at Guilfoyle's Funeral Home, Castletown, (Eircode R32TN84) on Saturday evening (April 4th) from 5.30pm to 7.30pm prayers at 6pm.
Removal from Guilfoyle's Funeral Home on Easter Sunday (April 5th) at 1.45pm to arrive at St. Edmund's Church, Castletown,(EircodeR32KT22) for Funeral Mass at 2pm followed by Burial immediately afterwards in St. Fintan's Cemetery, Mountrath.
