Laois Vintage have announced details of their upcoming sponsored Vintage Road Run, in aid of Laois Hospice.

The ignition was turned on the 2023 model at an official launch at Treacy’s Bar & Restaurant, The Heath.

Laois Vintage explained more about this year’s Road Run which will take place on Saturday, August 19, again from Treacy’s Bar & Restaurant, with a  start time of 10 am.

“This, the premier of vintage road runs, was founded in 1996, and in our 25 years of fundraising Laois Vintage has raised and donated €1,027,808 to Laois Hospice. The outstanding success of having raised in excess of €1 million, could not, or would not, have been achieved without the help of our exceptionally dedicated vintage enthusiasts, bucket collectors, and sponsors, who, year after year, give so generously of their time and money.  So, a million thanks to all.

“For this year’s car run we will be visiting the Donaghmore Famine Workhouse & Agricultural Museum, which aims to tell the story of the families who lived and died within its walls before, during and after the Great Famine.

“We have organised, for our tractor run, the very popular drive to Mountmellick, with the official stop of at Turley’s Pub for light refreshments.  MORE BELOW PICTURE.

“All vehicles will return to Treacys, between 3.30 pm and 4 pm, where complimentary meals, hosted by the Treacy family, will be served, and Commemorative plaques distributed to each participant.

As always, we like to assure all our sponsors and supporters that all monies raised by Laois Vintage will be donated directly to Laois Hospice, and members of the public, who give so generously, can be confident that each and every donation received will go solely and exclusively to Laois Hospice care,” said Laois Vintage.

So the Laois Vintage team are urging people to once again remember the date, Saturday,  August 19 at Treacy’s Bar and Restaurant.

“So do come along and join us, as a memorable day is always guaranteed.  Anyone not having joined us in the past, or having not received an Entry Form, are always very welcome to join us, however a donation on the day towards Laois Hospice will be appreciated,” say Laois Vintage.

Completed entry forms to be forwarded to Noelle Graham, Brockley House, Brockley Park, Stradbally, Co. Laois.  Tel: 086 8189204.
