Birdwatching Laois looking for whooper swans, ducks & waders

'Bird flu' found near Borrisokane, Co. Tipperary

What better way to avoid the throngs of Christmas shoppers this weekend than to join the Laois Branch of Birdwatch Ireland on a expedition down the road to one of the best birdwatching spots in the midlands.

On Sunday, December Birdwatch Ireland (Laois Branch) are going on a trip to the Lough Boora Wetlands in Co. Offaly.

The walk will be led by Mark McCorry (Bord na Mona)  who has particularly good knowledge of the site.

Hopefully we will see lots of Whooper swans, ducks and waders.

Meet at the Laois County County Council Offices Portlaoise at 9am to carpool.
