Walking for all in Portarlington

Laois Sports Partnership and Sport Ireland have linked up with the Operation Transformation team to promote National Walk Day on Saturday, January 13 @ 11am.

Organisers welcome all ages and abilities along on the day and would like to see families getting involved. The event is ideal for beginners to come out and give it a go. Children must be accompanied by an adult. In the interest of safety and out of respect to other walkers, dogs are not allowed.

There are two walks happening across the county on the day – check out walks below for one that suits you:

Cosby Hall, Stradbally: distance 5km, Meet at Main Street Entrance at 10.30am

Derryounce, Portarlington: distance 6km, Meet at The Hawthorn, Patrick Street at 10.30am.

Following on from the national walk day, a number of our Get Ireland Walking groups have weekly walks in their locality to coincide with the 8 Week Operation Transformation programme.
