Rathdowney's EasyRiders charity cycle group are back in the saddle for 2018 and are appealing to local people to sign up for a fundraising walk in Emo next week.

The group will be hosting a 5k run/walk on Sunday, May 20 at Emo Court. The run starts at 11am and the walk starts at 11.30am.

Registration and starting point is at Emo GAA grounds. Registration is at 10am.

Registration is €10 but kids run for free.

This year's cycle will be raising funds for the Irish Lung Fibrosis Association.

The association supports patients suffering from IPF but receives zero funding from the Government. EasyRiders believe it's a very worthy cause and will work hard to ensure they have a large cheque for them at the end of the fundraising campaign.

Over the past 15 years the EasyRiders Charity Cycle has raised over €400,000 for charities all across Ireland, including making small donations to local charities and organisations.

The 2018 cycle will consist of a 220km cycle from Rathdowney to Clonakilty, via Cork city. It is hoped that 45 cyclists will take on the challenge which takes place in August this year.

The EasyRiders ask everyone to follow them on Facebook.
