The Laois Senior hurlers will aim to try get their league campaign back on track as they face Davy Fitzgerald's charges under the lights of Laois Hire O'Moore Park on Saturday evening.

Both sides come into the game without a win in their league opener, however Waterford do have a point to show for their efforts against Dublin in Parnell Park last weekend.  Laois succumbed to the challenge of Tipperary in FBD Semple Stadium last Saturday as Liam Cahill's men recorded a comfortable 2-32 to 0-18 victory over the O'Moore men.

Laois will be hoping to better their efforts from their last league meeting with Waterford. In last year's league, Waterford won by an astonishing 33 points when they defeated Laois down in Walsh Park.

Dan Shanahan, a member of Willie Maher's backroom team, will come up against a familiar faces. Apart from being from Waterford, he also played for Davy Fitzgerald having been under the reigns of the Sixmilebridge man from 2008-2011, in his first stint as Waterford boss.

This game could be the one to ignite Laois' league campaign as a tricky fixture awaits in two weeks time against Derek Lyng's Kilkenny in Laois Hire O'Moore Park.

For those not able to attend the game, TG4 will broadcast the match live on Saturday evening. Coverage begins at 4:30pm with throw-in at 5pm.
