It is today been announced that Allianz Insurance will become the main sponsor of the GAA All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. The three-year deal also sees Allianz become an Official Sponsor of the Camogie Association and Official Sponsor of the GAA Museum at Croke Park.

This  brings to an end Eir's sponsorship of the championship following their decision to focus all their sponsorship entirely on the All-Ireland Hurling Championship.

The Laois Senior footballers will be hoping to play in the newly sponsored All-Ireland Championship, providing they can reach a Leinster final. If not, a stint in the Tailteann Cup will ensue for 2023.

The news sees Allianz become sponsors of both national flagship competitions in men's Gaelic Football. Allianz has sponsored the National Leagues for the last 31 years.

GAA President Larry McCarthy said: "It is a great pleasure to welcome Allianz Insurance as sponsor of the GAA All-Ireland Senior Football Championship."

CEO of Allianz Insurance, Sean McGrath commented:"With our sponsorship of the GAA All-Ireland Senior Football Championship alongside the Allianz Leagues, we will continue to work alongside the GAA as we have done over the past 31 years in supporting communities across the country and the passions of our customers. We are delighted to celebrate our long-standing commitment to Gaelic Games and look forward to our future together".

President of the Camogie Association, Hilda Breslin added:“It is a great pleasure to welcome Allianz Insurance as sponsor of our All-Ireland Post Primary School Championships and our highly anticipated Camán to Croker, which sees 64 clubs bring their U/12 teams to play in Croke Park in August".
