Laois Ladies make in two wins from two in U-16 Leinster Championship

The Laois U-16 Ladies football team

The Laois U-16 Ladies football team made it two wins from two in this year's U-16 Leinster Championship following Saturday's victory over Wicklow.

Laois had fired in seven goals in their opening round defeat of Westmeath as they took their tally to 11 goals overall with another four green flags on Saturday.

Laois 4-8

Wicklow 1-7

The first-half was an even contest with Wicklow leading by a point after 15 minutes. Both sides went in level at the break with the score at 1-5 a piece.

The game was decided in the first ten minutes of the second period as Laois fired in three goals and a point to Wicklow's single point. Laois winning out by ten points in the end on Bray Emmets all-weather pitch.

Laois' final game in Group B comes against Longford, who have won one game and lost one game. They lost out to Westmeath in Round 2 while they defeated Wicklow in Round 1.
