IN PICTURES: Action from the Laois GAA hurling championships

The quarter-finals of the Laois Senior Hurling Championship took centre stage at the weekend as Laois Hire O'Moore Park played host to a double-header of games to see who would join Camross and Rathdowney-Errill in the semi-finals. Abbeyleix were comfortable winners over Rosenallis in the end before Clough-Ballacolla and Castletown played out a thriller as a late Robbie Phelan goal securing a one-point win for the side hoping to lift the Bob O'Keefe Cup for the fourth successive year.

There was also a double-header of quarter-finals in the Premier Intermediate grade with Ballyfin and Portlaoise having already secured their semi-final spots. Ballinakill were too strong for the challenge of Clough-Ballacolla's second team while Clonaslee St Manman's and Rathdowney-Errill are due to play a replay after scoreline controversy saw their game end in ambiguity. Photographer Denis Byrne was in attendance getting some action shots. Tap NEXT or ARROW to see more images.
