Laois GAA football team announced for O’Byrne Cup opener against Offaly

New Laois Senior Football manager Justin McNulty has revealed the starting 15 for their opening game in the O’Byrne Cup against Offaly.

The team sees many new additions to the panel while some key figures from previous years are unavailable for the coming season. Portarlington’s Colm Murphy, Robbie Piggott and Paddy O’Sullivan are huge losses to McNulty’s panel while Graiguecullen’s Trevor Collins is also travelling for the year.

Portlaoise’s Ben Dempsey, Stradbally’s Liam Knowles, O’Dempsey’s Fionn Holland, Park-Ratheniska’s Simon Fingleton and St Joseph’s Cormac Murphy have all been named to start in what will be their Laois Senior debuts with all five players having featured over the years for the U-20 and Minor teams.

Laois and Offaly throws in at 7.30pm in Stradbally GAA on Wednesday January 3.
