For the fifth weekend in a row, the Laois senior footballers are in action as they look to return to winning ways, with Andy McEntee's Antrim visiting Portlaoise for a Round 5 Division 3 clash.

Laois come into Saturday’s game with two wins and two losses, knowing another defeat could seriously dent their promotion hopes. Last weekend, they suffered a heavy 12-point loss to table-toppers Kildare in Newbridge. Before that, they had built momentum with back-to-back wins over Sligo and Leitrim.

Antrim have a similar record to Laois, with only points difference keeping Laois ahead in the standings. They edged out Leitrim last weekend and remain firmly in the promotion race.

With Kildare leading the way on four wins from four, as many as five teams are now battling for second place. Just two points separate second from sixth, with Fermanagh’s win over Offaly throwing the division wide open.
