Laois GAA senior hurling championship match abandoned in Portlaoise after serious injury

Laois GAA has extended its best wishes to Clough-Ballacolla hurler Tommy Brennan who suffered an injury that caused the abandonment of a county championship in Portlaoise this weekend.

Tommy Brennan of Clough Ballacolla suffered a serious injury during his club's round 2 game versus Borris-in-Ossory Kilcotton in Laois Hire O'Moore on Saturday.

The injury occurred at the scoreboard end of the grounds with around five minutes gone. Clough Ballacolla were leading by two points to one at the time.

"Laois GAA send our best wishes and a speedy recovery to the injured Clough-Ballacolla player," said a Laois GAA statement on Saturday evening, July 19.

The County Board also announced that the match was rescheduled to  Monday, July 21 at 7.45pm in Laois Hire O’Moore Park with entry free.
