Laois camogie fans heading to Croke Park this Sunday, August 10, for the Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Premier Junior Final will be treated to more than just a shot at silverware, with a full programme of family-friendly entertainment lined up throughout the day.
Supporters making the journey to Dublin to watch Laois take on Armagh in the Premier Junior decider can expect a festival atmosphere both inside and outside the stadium. A tailgate party kicks off at 12 noon at the Croke Park Hotel, complete with music, face painting, and activities for all ages.
In the stadium, the entertainment continues with live DJ sets, a dance cam, T-shirt cannons, drumming performances, and special half-time shows. These will include appearances from underage teams, a parade of U-14 players, and the Tipperary Jubilee Team of 2000.
Broadcasters Aisling O’Reilly and Valerie Wheeler will serve as stadium MCs on the day, helping to keep energy levels high between the action on the pitch.
The Premier Junior Final, featuring Laois, throws in at 1pm, followed by the Intermediate Final between Kerry and Offaly at 3pm, and the Senior Final between Cork and Galway at 5:15pm.
With so much at stake on the field and plenty to enjoy off it, Sunday promises to be a memorable occasion for Laois supporters.
“It’s a true celebration of camogie, community and culture – you won’t want to miss it,” said Brian Molloy, Uachtarán of the Camogie Association.
Laois will be hoping the day ends with the Kay Mills Cup heading back to the O’Moore County, and with a strong crowd behind them, they’ll be aiming to turn last year’s heartbreak into this year’s triumph.
