Laois GAA hurlers to face Mayo in Tooreen after Castlebar switch

The venue for Laois’ Allianz Hurling League Division 2 opener against Mayo has been changed.

The game, originally scheduled for MacHale Park, Castlebar on Sunday, January 25 at 1pm, will now be played at Adrian Freeman Park in Tooreen.

Tooreen were runners-up in the 2025-26 All-Ireland Intermediate Club final after an extra-time epic against Tipperary’s Upperchurch-Drombane in Croke Park

Laois GAA confirmed the change, with the throw-in time remaining at 1pm. Sunday’s fixture will mark the first-ever competitive meeting between Laois and Mayo in hurling.
