The Portlaoise Golf Club's Central Towns Team
Portlaoise Golf Club are celebrating this week after their Central Towns Team booked a place in the Central Towns Trophy final with a superb victory over Mullingar Golf Club.
The Portlaoise side recorded a 4–1 win in a titanic semi-final battle on Saturday afternoon, producing a series of strong performances to see off their Westmeath opponents.
The winning team was made up of Declan Ryan, Roy Glynn, John Farrell, Sandy Cleland and Shaun Tobin, with Adrian Kelly and Eoghan Lalor managing the side. The victory now sets up a final showdown with Edenderry Golf Club, which will take place on Sunday, September 14, at Tullamore Golf Club.
