The Laois Hurlers Golfing Society enjoyed a memorable outing at the Iar-Iománaithe na hÉireann Inter-County Hurlers Golfing Society’s third event of the year, held on Friday, September 12, at the picturesque Thurles Golf Club.

Known as the 'Team Inter-County Event', the competition drew strong participation from across the country. In a highly competitive field, Laois secured the bronze medal, finishing in third place behind winners Limerick and runners-up Galway. It was a proud result for the county, placing the team among the top performers on the day.

There were standout performances across the Laois contingent, most notably from Fint Scully, who produced the round of the day with a superb 44 points. The full team included Timmy Williams, Tommy Moore, Brochan O'Reilly, John Taylor, Richie Moloney, Gerry Kavanagh, Peter Bergin, and Alex Stenson.

The success in Thurles underlines the continued strength and camaraderie of the Laois hurlers on the golfing stage. Looking ahead, attention now turns to the final outing of the year, when the group will face the challenge of The Heath Golf Club on Saturday, October 4.
