Funeral details of young Laois man who died tragically in New Zealand

Provisional funeral arrangements have been made for a young Laois man who died in a tragic accident in New Zealand.

Seán Clear from Farren Cross, Ballacolla died while working in Taumarunui, New Zealand on Friday, February 17.

The popular Ballacolla mechanic had travelled to New Zealand to work last October, having previously worked in Australia for a time.

It’s understood he died while trying to dislodge a machine which had become bogged down when a second piece of equipment came into contact with overhead power lines. Seán had been due to celebrate his 25th birthday on Monday, February 20.  

Provisional arrangements are now in place ahead of his funeral. He will repose at his residence on Thursday and Friday evening while a Funeral Mass will be held this Saturday. 

Details are to be confirmed on Wednesday with the appropriate times. 

Seán's family have requested that the house remain private from Monday to Wednesday.  

Seán is predeceased by his beloved Nanny Ev and Granddad Tommy. Sorely missed by his heartbroken family, parents Tom and Julie and sister Ella, Granny Mary, Granddad Jerry, Godparents Ger and Claire, Godson Charlie, aunts Donna, Elaine, Nicola, Emma, Liz, Stephanie and Natascha, uncles Paul, James, Martin, Glynn, Eddie and Barry, cousins Jack, Chloe, Lorna, Oran, Chloe, Kizzie, Cian, Rachel, Caleb, Laoise, Arran. Roisin, Aoibhinn, Eabha, Saoirse, Frankie, Charlie, Anna, Culainn, Kayla and Taylor and a wide circle of relatives and friends.
