Aslan has been revealed as one of the surprise acts at this year's Salty Dog stage at Electric Picnic.
A year after the death of Christy Dignam, Aslan, one of the country’s most beloved rock bands, is set to perform at one of the Picnic's favourite stages.
Other performers set to take to the iconic shipwreck in the woods include Sello, Kynsy, Mik Pyro, Bricknasty, New Jackson, Blessed, Yard, White Horse Guitar Club, The Bonneymen, Soulé, Brógeal, These Charming Men, Stefan Murphy, Scustin, The Pale, Shark School, Sexy Tadhg, Big Sleep, Oh Boland, Darnell Cole & The Vibe, The Circus Ponies, The Outcast Crew, The Donnys, The Molgoggers, Peer Pleasure, Wedding Band of the Damned, and The Variant.
"Salty Dog People! Thursday night has become one of the best parties at Electric Picnic. And we invite all 4-day revellers – the unhygienists and the out-of-work – to join us this year for a spectacularly disastrous wedding ceremony. 10pm Thursday," said the announcement.
"Anyone who stays in their tents, camper vans or back at their comfortable homes is a fool."
Salty Dog is also set to feature 'top secret surprise acts' – having previously welcomed Rick Astley to its stage last year.
The countdown is on for the festival of the summer in Stradbally from August 16 to 18 with organisers revealing this latest announcement on Friday, July 12.
