Irish Rail has suspended some rail services in Laois after vehicle struck a bridge this evening.
Rail staff are going to inspect the rail line and bridge before services can continue. It's understood the bridge on the Portlaoise to Mountmellick Road was struck.
Trains services are suspended between Portlaoise and Ballybrophy and the 7pm Heuston to Cork train is being held in Portarlington.

A vehicle has struck a bridge near Portlaoise, and services are suspended on the line ahead.
Crews are en route to complete an inspection of the bridge.
