Gardaí in Kildare are investigating a serious road traffic collision that occurred in Monasterevin, on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 involving a foreign national who lives in the Portarlington area.

The collision between a motorcyclist and an articulated truck occurred at 1.10pm on the Dublin road, Monastervin. The male motorcyclist (31 years) was seriously injured and taken to hospital with serious injuries. It is understood he his in a critical condition in Beaumont hospital.

The male lorry driver(32 years) was uninjured in the collision.

The road was closed for a number of hours to facilitate a Forensic collision examination but re-opened at 7.30pm, on Tuesday evening.
