Two Laois tourism ventures were entered into the 2017 Irish Tourism Industry Awards, but failed to make it into the 2017 final, to be held in February.
Durrow village’s All Ireland Scarecrow festival, and the newly developed Laois Heritage Trail App and Audio Guides, were submitted without success. There were 74 finalists chosen over 14 categories, mostly from Dublin and the west.
