Laois Council advertising well paid role for the creative minded

Laois County Council has a very attractive job on offer suitable for a creative communicative type.

They are looking for a Creative Communities Engagement Officer and the role has an attractive starting salary of €46,411. 

The Creative Communities Engagement Officer will be a key member of the Culture and Creativity team responsible for promoting creativity and culture in Laois. 

They will report to the Creative Ireland Coordinator within the Community Department at Laois County Council. 

The council says the role will require evening and weekend work without overtime but time off will be offered in  lieu of overtime.  The position will involve day-to-day admin duties. 

The fixed term contract to 2027 arises as part of the Creative Ireland Programme. It is an all-of-government initiative committed to enhancing access to, engagement with, and enjoyment of Ireland’s culture and creativity.

The vision of the Creative Ireland Programme 2023 - 2027 is to “mainstream creativity” in the life of the nation to realise everyone’s full creative potential thereby promoting individual, community and national wellbeing.

The role will involve working with Laois County Council Culture and Creativity Team to deliver the strategic priorities in Laois County Council Culture and Creativity Strategy 2023-2027 and Cruinniú na nÓg, through an annual programme.

The officer will have to liaise with local creatives, artists, organisations and relevant officials in the council to manage the development and delivery of a programme of projects and events. 

The aim is to encourage increased participation in creative and cultural activities locally.

Candidates for the role most have a Level 7 Qualification on the National Framework of Qualifications and have significant experience in a role relevant to the position.
