Portarlington Angling Club is inviting local people to take up membership on the Derryounce Lakes fishery and Barrow River.

The lake season is open all year round but divided into the summer season which has bag and size limits and the winter season which is strictly catch and release.

The club says the Derryounce Lakes fishery is fly fishing only with no bait or spinning tactics permitted.

The River Barrow is open to all forms of rod and line fishing from March to end of September. There are separate permits for the lake and the river.  These can be purchased separately.

Member cards and club subscriptions can be obtained from Portarlington Auto Parts, Main Street, R32ENK2.  Rules / angling terms and conditions are printed on the membership card.

The club reminds people to please be advised that fishing without a valid permit is illegal and all fisheries are monitored and patrolled.
